O.K so you've probably heard that one before but you must admit that boating can be an expensive pastime.
Seeing as how us boaters have to buy "essential" items for our craft wouldn't it be great if we could save some money in the process?
Well you can and this where eBay comes into the equation.
You can find just about anything for your particular type of boat on eBay.

and look at the variety of equipment on offer.

If you have spent any amount of time trawling around Yacht Chandlers and Boat Auctions you will know what a bind it can become, especially if you can't find what you want or you're being asked to pay through the nose for something.
If you shop on eBay you can look for that item from the comfort of your own home (or even your own boat).
I've even seen Boat Insurance for sale on eBay, although personally I would prefer to use a directory site such as

As you can see, the prices are shown in pounds sterling, but a search on the eBay site that is relevant to your country will show similar results.
Depending on which part of the world you live in you might be starting your boating season or laying up for the winter (or perhaps your fortunate enough to use your boat all year round).
Whatever season you happen to find yourself in you will still spend money on you're beloved boat.
So go on. Give it a go and see how much less you could spend.
